1. Introduction

For TICo Group Ltd the terms ‘Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)’ or ‘responsible entrepreneurship’ refer to ensuring the economic success of our business by the inclusion of social and environmental considerations into the company’s operations. It means satisfying our customers’ demands whilst also managing the expectations of other people, such as employees, suppliers and the community around us. It means contributing positively to society and managing our firm’s environmental impacts. And it brings direct benefits to our business and secure its long-term competitiveness.

2. Workplace Policies

The long-term success of our business depends on the knowledge, skills, talent and particularly the motivation of our employees. As our business grows we need people that we can rely on and delegate to, so that we can strengthen the business. We strive to be an employer of choice and to attract motivated and committed staff. We actively encourage our employees to develop real skills and long-term careers via a performance appraisal process and an in house training plan.

We ensure adequate steps are taken against all forms of discrimination, both in the workplace and at the time of recruitment (e.g. against women, ethnic groups, disabled people, etc.) Structures have been developed to ensure consultation with employees on important issues. We have daily meetings on work flow and two monthly meetings one for management only to discuss company performance and the other for management to interface with staff and allow them a forum to air their concerns.

We offer our staff an option to join Health Group scheme where they can avail of a 10% discount. We also offer a Pension Scheme to which the Company will contribute 10% to staff members who join the scheme.

TICo is committed to a Health and Safety at Work Environmental Policy. Our Safety Policy is set out in our Company Safety Statement and its implementation is overseen by a fulltime Health and Safety Manager.

TICo actively offers a good work-life balance to its employees. This is evident in the amount of staff choosing a flexible working hour regime and also the increase in full time ‘part time’ workers as some workers with children need to balance their time at home during a certain period in their career.

3. Environmental Policies

Environmental degradation is both a global and a local problem of increasing concern throughout society – and therefore among our customers. We are acutely aware that even as an SME the potential to reduce negative environmental impacts may be limited but even by reducing energy consumption and by minimising waste and recycling materials, these modest improvements can make a profound difference when aggregated with the efforts of other businesses.

We are actively implementing new procedures to address the following:

Energy conservation
Waste minimisation and recycling
Pollution prevention

4. Marketplace Policies

TICo is the essence of a ‘human’ organisation relying on a web of internal and external relationships which are vital for mutual prosperity. The way in which these working relationships are managed is vital to the success of our business. Good relations with our customers and suppliers bring gains for both sides.

In practice we try to improve on our standing and maintain our reputation by satisfying our customers and remaining committed to ethical business practices. This reputation is crucial to ensure success in the marketplace.

We endeavor to provide clear and accurate information about our services. This is evident in our quotation and purchase order system.

We continue to implement various procedures to ensure effective feedback, consultation with customers, suppliers and the other people we do business with. We register and resolve complaints from customers as outlined in our Standard Operating Procedures.
